VERY Fine Antique Japanese Imari Porcelain Scalloped Bowl. This listing is for an elegant Imari Japanese porcelain scalloped bowl with gold gilding and made of a heavy, solid composition. This visually eye-catching antique scalloped bowl is hand crafted in a style reminiscent of fuku-zara ceramics typically seen during the Edo Period; patterns of a meticulously hand-painted designs of alternating origami motifs is done in a striking gold that pops out especially well against the rich, midnight blue enamel.

The gold gilded lines seen throughout the interior and exterior of the bowl also delicately traces the fluted edges of the scalloped rim. Centered on the backside and hand painted on the enamel is a fuku mark representing longevity. The bowl is in excellent condition with no cracks or hairline fractures. It has a notably well preserved glaze that sheens all throughout with gentle wear along some areas of the gold paint outlining the rim.
