A Fine Late Meiji Period Large Satsuma Vase By Yoshiyama. Of Ovid form with wide shoulders tapering to a narrower base, the main body hand decorated with two large panels in vibrant colours of Red, Blue, Green, Brown, Orange and gold. One panel has a painting of Geisha in a garden landscape with Mount Fuji to the Background, the other panel has a painting of a House /Temple within a rocky and mountainous landscape. The border neck and base are of a Dark cobalt blue with gilt embellishments. The underside inscribed with Yoshiyama below a Shimazu family crest. It measures approximately 31.5cm high. Approximately 17cm across at widest point. 11.5cm diameter at base.
