Fine Quality Antique Mix metal Japanese Shakudo Cup Mug. Japanese Bronze Cylin

  

Old Japanese mix metal Shakudo Cylinder tripod jar decorated with flower vase, samurai warriors (atleast they look to me like that) and a signature plaque. Shakudo is a traditional Japanese material, and is an alloy of gold and copper; the dark bluish-black patina is achieved by applying a compound called rokusho to the piece and then heating it and originated for use in Japanese armor and swords. It was banned in 1876 by their government, artisans turned to jewelry and to other objects to continue this honorable and idyllic craft.

These Jar is example of this work. Dates Late 19th Century Measurements : Diameter is 2 3/4 inches bottom diameter is 2 1/4 inches x 4 inches height. Condition : Good old condition No major flaws noted, only for some surface wear. Please Note As vintage items are previously loved /used please do expect some minor wear like surface wear /dents /dings and metal discoloration.
