Old Japanese mix metal Shakudo cufflinks featuring Wheat Husk (atleast it looks to me like that) deigns Shakudo is a traditional Japanese material, and is an alloy of gold and copper; the dark bluish-black patina is achieved by applying a compound called rokusho to the piece and then heating it and originated for use in Japanese armor and swords. It was banned in 1876 by their government, artisans turned to jewelry and to other objects to continue this honorable and idyllic craft. These cufflinks are example of this work and may be original Shakudo pieces must be converted to cuff-links later on. Materials : Silver with gold accents Measurements : Cufflinks are approx 1 3/4 inches x 3/8 inches. Combine weight of both the pieces is 16 on my weighing scale. Condition : Good old condition No major flaws noted, only for some surface wear.
