An antique Okimono (Japanese means artsy display ornament object) displayed on a small custom wood stand from Meiji Period circa early 2oth century. The ball form was finely carved out of a light colored wood. It depicts twelve zodiac animals intertwined together, yet each animal decorated with bead eyes can be easily discerned. The piece is inset with a miniature plaque with the artist's name, which is illegible to us, so the authorship still needs to be deciphered. A small but wonderful object of vertu.
The ball itself is 2 in diameter. 2.75high with the stand. The item "Finely Carved Japanese Okimono on Stand" is in sale since Friday, April 3, 2020.
