Experience the beauty of antique Japanese art with this finely painted Bizen Arita Yaki Imari Plate. Crafted from porcelain and pottery, this multi-colored plate boasts intricate designs that depict a stunning waterfall with gilt accents. With an age range from 1868 to 1877, this antique original is a rare find that would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Arita ware is the name of the type of porcelain fired in the vicinity of Arita-cho in Saga Prefecture. Boasting a 400-year history, Arita is also renowned as the area where porcelain was fired for the first time in Japan.

Before long, the elegant appearance of Arita ware porcelain made it extremely popular overseas. The plate measure 11" in diameter and around 1.5" in depth.

It features blue underglaze painting with multicolor enamel painting on top. It is signed on the back in red with Bizen Arita Maki, Drawn by Tei Zan. I belong to an online Asian Art forum where they gave me the date of early Meiji (which spans the years 1868 to 1877). It is in fantastic condition considering its age. There are no chips, cracks or breaks. There is wear to the gold gilding and age appropriate scuffing on the base.

Perfect for display or use, this plate is a must-have for art enthusiasts and collectors alike. Most items I sell are estate items, antique or used. This item is in the same condition as I found it. I do not do any major cleaning of above item.

I leave that up to the new owner(s). I do not guarantee that the item comes from a non-smoking home or from a home that does not have pets.
